Dear Friends: August 17, 2010
Tickets are now available for the 2010-11 Los Altos Neutra House Speaker Series. See our “Bay Area Masters” poster below for details. Talks begin on October 14th. You may order your series tickets below. The speaker receptions after the talks are a short walk away in the Neutra House. With excellent wine, food, and conversation, the receptions are very popular. These tickets sell out.
Series ticket purchasers also become Neutra House Association members. Members receive periodic reports on our program activities and get the first chance to purchase program tickets. If you want to give us an extra hand you are welcome to add a separate on-line donation. All gifts are charitable deductions through the Los Altos Community Foundation, a 501c3 organization.
In addition to and complementing the Speaker Series, we are holding our second biennial LA Modern Home Tour on Saturday October 16th. The Tour will be preceded by an elegant Preview Party on Friday the 15th. The party will be in a beautiful modern home that is not on the tour. See the Tour poster and on-line ticket order forms below.
The Neutra House program has three goals: (1) provide the public an opportunity to learn more about architecture; (2) pay off our construction loan; (3) provide a social opportunity for people with common interests in modern architecture. Our events, especially the receptions and party, are excellent opportunities to meet and converse with people interested in good design. Good design, for the most part, is a subliminal quality in our lives. Architects employ diverse forms of knowledge both artistic and scientific. The Speaker Series and Tour offers us an opportunity to learn about and/or from those who are directly involved in shaping our architectural and landscape environment.
We look forward to seeing our many friends from last year as well as the prospects of many new ones. We also want to thank our returning sponsors and new sponsors. We are honored by the quality of our friends in business.
